The company commenced as a small, one-man operation focussing on general engineering. Within time the company soon took the direction to commence production on chain sprockets which led to a strong growth of the business resulting in employing staff.
In the mid-1990s management decided to head in the direction of specialised component manufacturing and general engineering, however still focussing on sprockets made to order.
The direction has proven itself to be very successful with Mergard Engineering Pty Ltd now employing almost 30 people.
The company prides itself in being a company of choice where strong emphasis is placed on multi-skilling our employees. We have highly qualified fitter and turners to ensure the quality of workmanship is of a high standard.
Mergard Engineering has some of the most sophisticated machinery in its class. With four CNC turning machines, two CNC mill turn, one CNC multiplex (Milling, turning, robotic loading and unloading), one CNC 515 machine centre, two alpha Harrison computer top centre lathes and a comprehensive range of gear cutting and hobbing machines. We also have the equipment for keyway broaching, welding, flame hardening and sand blasting.
Boring, Keying and taper locking is available on a 48-hour turn around period.
